We are officially collaborating with the brilliant team at Apiary, the Brighton-based bar & restaurant renowned for designing their drinks, food, and decor around their own bees, to introduce active beehives right here on our vineyard.This exciting venture not only underscores our commitment to biodiversity and a thriving vineyard ecosystem, but it also creates an incredible new experience for our visitors.

The Critical Role of Bees for the Environment

Our decision to host Apiary’s bees is deeply connected to our commitment to sustainable and environmentally responsible methods, which are fundamental to viticulture. Bees are vital to the health of our planet.

• Pollination for Food and Nature: Bees are crucial pollinators for a vast number of plants, including wild trees and flowers, which in turn support the rest of the ecosystem. A staggering one-third of the world’s food production relies on bee pollination, as it enables many food crops to reproduce.
• Ecosystem Support: Without bees and other insect species, the ecosystem would collapse. Their role in pollination supports other insects, and everything up the food chain, including birds, bats, and mammals, by providing food and shelter.
• Biodiversity: This partnership contributes directly to promoting biodiversity on our land.

The Buzz on the Collaboration

Apiary will be establishing their own beehives on our land. In return for hosting the hives, we’ll receive a small allocation from the delicious honey produced, which will be a wonderful new product for us to share! We are providing the bases for the hives, and Apiary will manage the beekeeping throughout the season, ensuring the best care for our new pollinators.

Un-bee-lievable Experience Days

The most exciting part is the launch of Bee Tours and ‘Experience Days’! Picture this: visitors will have the unique opportunity to head up to the hives for a full bee talk and hive inspection with the Apiary experts. The experience will then be beautifully capped off with a tasting a glass of Everflyht fizz right in the heart of the vineyard.

This combination of nature, education, and our sparkling wine will offer an unparalleled and memorable day out.

Everflyht on the Menu at Apiary

The synergy extends beyond our vineyard! Apiary is looking to feature Everflyht sparkling wine at their Brighton venue, bringing our fizz to their loyal customers. We’re particularly excited that our Rosé de Saignée will be listed as a special ‘by the glass’ offering for their Valentine’s Day promotion, a perfect pairing for a romantic night out.

Our team has recently met with Alistair and Noemi from Apiary to finalise the plans for the initial setup, including deciding on the best location for the hives on the vineyard and a dedicated wine tasting to select the best lines for their bar.
